REVIEW | “As entertaining and fast-paced as this book is, there’s also a strong underlying message”

Review of Serpentauria: Ark of Extinction

Archaic Arts Magazine is a science fiction, fantasy, and fact magazineThis was an excellent read, the first I’ve read from these authors. A blend of South American mythology and present-day science fiction, this well wrought novel combines believable characters with a dazzling display of science and technology. And if the human characters aren’t enough, wait until you meet some of the fascinating creatures woven into the dense jungle of plot twist and mystery Serpentauria has to offer.  As entertaining and fast-paced as this book is, there’s also a strong underlying message that brings to light many of our important societal and ecological issues in the world today. The first installment in its series, Serpentauria did an excellent job of laying the groundwork for future books while still providing an entertaining read, start to finish.  As an avid science fiction reader, I took a walk on the wild side with this highly entertaining ‘tail.’

Would Eva Longoria be a good casting for the character of Marina in a movie based on Serpentauria: Ark of Extinction?

Would Eva Longoria be a good casting for the character of Marina in any movie based on Serpentauria: Ark of Extinction?

The book (and series) contains a strong message of empowerment for young people–especially young girls. It also has a compelling message of inclusiveness for all races and creeds and equal opportunities for them. From this article… Hope for a Brighter Future for Latinas… it sounds like Eva wants to promote this same message.

REVIEW | Serpentauria: Ark of Extinction – Starburst Magazine

Serpentauria: Ark of ExtinctionFrom Neil Buchanan, Starburst Magazine 7 out of 10 Stars

There’s an innocence to Serpentauria that proves hard to resist. It is at once an entertaining and engaging story full of intrigue and betrayal, but there’s also a powerful message about species extinction that’s difficult to ignore. Serpentauria serves as an excellent gateway for children into the problems facing nature and also manages to remain a fine adventure to boot.

Serpentauria is more than just a novel, it also represents the dreams of author Erik Daniel Shein who hopes through his entertainment company, Arkwatch, to one day build a real earth Genomic zoological sanctuary, a true Noah’s arc if you will, that will house the D.N.A seeds and animal/plant life for future generations.

Serpentauria does unfortunately stumble in places; there are a number of grammatical nits that while not distracting from the narrative, pop up a little too often. Certain chapters resonate with drama while others labour under the narrative. As a whole, the writing is strong, but there are places where a final edit, perhaps its conversion through the various eBook formats, could have catapulted the book from good to great. Luckily, it doesn’t derail the novel’s central themes and the writing is strong enough to engross the reader sufficiently all the way through to a thought provoking climax.

Since its release, Serpentauria has gained quite the following, with even talk of a possible movie in the works. One thing’s for sure, Sepentauria looks set to make a big name for itself in the years to come.

Novelists | Dennis M. Lowery & Erik Daniel Shein

From Dennis Lowery

How often one sees people looking far and wide for what they are holding in their hands…

It’s amazing how the journey continues and where it takes you when you start with something as simple as putting the words inside you down on paper. And that is exactly how I started.

Because of my extensive business career (a great deal of it with starting and buying my own businesses) naturally I at first turned to writing business books. With success at that, as word got around about me, others asked for my help with their books and that led to me to starting a publishing company and working with all kinds of people and types of books. Including fiction. I still write non-fiction and help people with their non-fiction books or memoirs and stories about their life but I now am equally adept at fiction and will work at honing that craft.

One of my fiction collaborations is doing well and is going to be a five book series. There is interest from studio executives in making a movie(s) based on the first book and the series. My colleague and I also have plans for other story lines once we work through this series and have set up a new website for our work together.

REVIEW | “The originality was amazing and unlike any story I’ve ever read”

A comment/review of Serpentauria: Ark of Extinction posted at Books-A-Million:

“Incredible tale of adventure!”

“Honestly the book is a delight from cover to cover! What an amazing story this one was. The originality was amazing and unlike any story I’ve ever read. The authors did an amazing job of bringing you right into this story. I felt like I knew Sarah and her family from the very beginning and I loved the adventure that I was taken on while reading this book.

It’s a young adult book, but it’s more than that! Wonderful story for even the younger reader just as well as the older ones.”

REVIEW | “I was so hooked into the story I could not stop reading…”

Alexis likes Serpentauria: Ark of Extinction and talks about that in her Amazon review:

“I went and saw ‘The Hunger Games’ last night at the midnight release like millions did, and loved it. On the way home a friend and I were talking about recent books we’ve read that should be movies also, and with this book fresh in my mind I mentioned it to her.”

REVIEW | “Sure to become a family classic” (this is a must read review of Serpentauria: Ark of Extinction!)

From Dennis Lowery

Following is an excerpt from a review just received on Serpentauria: Ark of Extinction (with a link to the full review at Amazon). As a publisher and writer it is the type that you shoot for. Where the reader has been touched positively in some way and what you wrote or published has made an impact.

I’m very proud to be the publisher and co-author of this book.

Here’s the excerpt (from Adam‘s review):

There are so many aspects of it to comment on, but the main way I can prove this book’s worth to you is with this – My daughter wants us to read through it over again although we just finished it! There are very few books she has wanted us to read again, heck.. most of the books we have read her from the kindle are so short or generic she can’t remember them completely. Not here. The story of eleven year old Sara and her quest to not only save endangered animals, but restore life to animals man have hunted to extinction is very remember-able.
